Tell Me About Yourself

This open-ended interview question often leaves most rambling about their likes and dislikes, hobbies, favorite vacation and love of Mexican food.  But be wary of revealing so much personal information about yourself here. This question is all about connecting the dots on your resume so the interviewer understands not only what you’ve done but why. Give a prepared pitch that is compelling and concise showing why you are exactly right for the job.

Why Should We Hire You?

This intimidating question can leave you in an excellent position to set yourself up to sell yourself and your skills.  Leverage your company research and their job description to pinpoint exactly why the company is hiring for this position. What are their pain points? How can you help solve them?  Craft your answer to convey how you’d be a better hire than any of the other candidates, how you’ll deliver excellent results and why you’ll be a perfect fit.

What Are Your Greatest Strengths?

Be completely accurate when highlighting your strengths—don’t just list off what you think the interviewer wants to hear.  Provide a clear, sharp, on-point answer.  Precise is the name of the game with this interview answer.  Give a few examples that pertain to that position and prove you have those attributes.
